WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ – American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier Group (ARC) added M/V Aida to the American flag as the seventh Ro-Ro vessel in its fleet.

M/V Aida was re-flagged to American registry on March 30. The reflag was conducted by the Coast Guard in the port of New York. M/V Aida replaced M/V Courage in the Maritime Security Program (MSP) and was also enrolled in the Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement (VISA). Consistent with past practice to name ARC ships after American values, she will be renamed at a later date.

The vessel is among the most capable and militarily-useful vessels in the U.S.-flag commercial fleet, able to carry tracked vehicles, helicopters, trucks and other military and high and heavy project cargoes.

M/V Aida is 199m long with a beam of 32.26m. She has a 14.15m wide and 7.04m high stern opening, with a stern ramp rated for cargo up to 240,000 MT.
